Molas to Cascade Creek ride on the CT

Blog

Did a good ride yesterday on a section of the Colorado Trail that goes from just outside of Silverton to the ski resort near Durango.
This was the first time I had done this ride and it was amazing. The CT trail coalition had been working on the first bit of trail the weekend prior and did a fantastic job of making it really ridable-apparently some of the bits were all washed out and needed attention.
Thank you CT trail work crew!

JG nats recap and what's next

Well I'm bummed to report that I missed the 2010 Mountain Bike National Champs this past weekend in Sol Vista. I was not feeling spry. Following all the travel and then some great racing in Snowmass (I won the Super-D and placed 3rd in the XC at the MSC event the weekend before last) I wasn't feeling like the Jenny Jen racer that could have done well at Nats. All the travel and go-go finally caught up to me.

A big shout out goes to Mike though-Super D National Champ in the Maverick House!!

There is still tons of racing to come!

Next on the calendar:

7/24-Uphill/Downhill race-Durango, CO
7/30-Crankworx Super-D
7/31-Crankworx Cross-Country
8/7-8/8- MSC Keystone. Super-D and XC

Bangtail Trail

Blog

After climbing up the first couple thousand feet we ran in a bear on the trail! He was just to the right of the singletrack and so we backed up and let him cross over. It took a few minutes but eventually he sauntered along his merry way munching berries and flowers. I was scared but it was super cool to be so close to him

At the end of the ride I ran into a fellow who asked me about my bike. He was a devout Maverick rider from Truckee, CA. We chatted about the dropper seat post and how great it is and the suspension quality. Then he told me about our fantastic Ethan and how he helped him out at the Downieville Classic a couple years back. He remembered Ethan because he of how nice, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and genuine he is. If you haven't yet met him and all the boys at the helm at the Maverick global headquarters in Golden then you should!!

Although I didn't get to race these past few weeks it was amazing all of the rides I did and the people I met along the way. So many great folks and so many inquiries about the ML8.
I want to help get the word out, cuz these machines are unbelievable and I hope to pass along the good word!

Now I have to get back into race shape not eating, and drinking and dancing shape...although I did become a pro at that!

Nuptual #3- Carey and Stacey-Bozeman, MT-6 days later

Blog

Last on the stop was a visit to Bozeman for a family wedding up at Bridger Bowl.

Needless to say I'm pretty exhausted from the drive but the local bike shop said we had to check out The Bangtail trail. It's a point to point that is located across from the ski resort. It's really cool. Basically it climbs then rides across a rolling ridge for about 20 miles then drops back down.
